How to get there from Athens: by ferry (5 hours), by catamaran (2,5 hours) and plane (45 minutes).
Some of the places of interest: the church of Virgin Ekatontapyliani, the church of St. Constantine (both in the main town of the village, Paroikia) the Byzantine museum, the Archaeological Museum, Longovardas monastery, the ruined Venetian castle in Marpissa.
Main villages: Paroikia (capital and port town), Naoussa, Lefkes
Beaches: Livadia, Krios, Mikro and Megalo Piperi, Kolimbithres, Pounta, Santa Maria, Ambelas, Chryssi Akti, Agioi Anargyroi and many more.
Overall: It is a very pretty island, full of character, picturesque villages and beautiful beaches. You can find high standard of tourist facilities, a great variety of restaurants, bars and shops. Day trips to the islands of Antiparos, Ios, Naxos and Mykonos are organised.
