Meeting with your guide: Syntagma metro station at 9:30am
End of tour: Acropolis at 1:00pm
The tour begins inside the Syntagma metro station, where your professional guide will show you shortly the archaeological exhibits that came to light during the construction of the metro.
You will then continue on to Syntagma Square, see the House of the Greek parliament ("Vouli") and watch the changing of the guards at the Monument to the Unknown Soldier.
A pleasant walk through the National Gardens will follow and on to the Zappeion Hall, the Temple of Zeus and the Hadrian's Arch.
Passing by the historical, picturesque Plaka district, we finally reach Acropolis. Your guide will give you in-depth guided tour of the history of this world heritage site and its breathtaking monuments including the Parthenon, the Erechtheion, the Propylaia, the Nike Temple. See also in the surrounding the Athenian Agora, the Observatory, the Hill of Democracy (Pnyx), Mars and Philoppapos Hills, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus and the Theater of Dionysos.
