Mykonos

(info, map, photos & weather information)

How to get there from Athens: by ferry (6 hours), by catamaran (3 hours) and plane (50 minutes).
Some of the places of interest: the nearby island of Delos, the archaeological museum, the old city quarters called "Little Venice", the Folk museum, the monastery of Tourliani.
Main villages: Mykonos (capital), Ano Mera, Korfos, Ornos, Platis Gialos
Beaches: Ornos, Platis Yialos, Agios Stefanos, Kalafatis, Psarou, Paradise, Super Paradise (nudists)
Overall: The island of Mykonos is famous for its often extravagant night-life, picturesque villages - all with whitewashed houses, narrow paved lanes and windmills - beautiful and very well organised beaches and for its VIP guests - no celebrity that comes to Greece for the first time fails to visit the island. Avoid it in July and August if you are looking for a quiet holiday.
