Crete: Creta Beach hotel

4* (A Class) / Heraklion area - Ammoudara

Description of the accommodation

The Creta Beach

At about 6kms from the centre of Heraklion town.

There’s nothing quite like an exotic garden with palm trees, especially if it lies just next to a golden sandy beach on one of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean and yet located close to the city of Heraklion.

The stone bungalows at Creta Beach, built just a few meters away from the shore, were initially conceived by forward-thinking architects in the late 1960s, who wanted to preserve the natural beach-side character and build discrete low-rise chalets instead of towering hotels. Today, this concept is very important for Creta Beach’s eco-friendly philosophy, which retains the charm of the original bungalows.

Apart from the bungalows, the newly renovated wing of rooms set amid the landscaped gardens offer a quiet escape from the stresses of life, only a two or three-minute walk away from the beach. They are the newest addition to the resort and offer all the amenities and services expected in a first-class Crete accommodation property. Enjoy soft colour tones, modern tiled floors, bathrooms and amenities such as hairdryer, toiletries, safe box, beach towels, flat-screen satellite television, Wi-Fi, mini fridge, individually controlled air-conditioning and more.

Breakfast is served in rich buffet style and the rich culinary experience is extended to lunch and dinner where the famous Cretan diet plays an important role. For recreation there’s a swimming pool with sun beds & umbrellas as well as SPA facilities; there are also facilities for mini golf, tennis, archery, ping pong, beach volleyball, petanque and dartboards. On some evenings of the week the hotel organizes thematic events.

Just outside the hotel’s gates there are many small shops and supermarkets that make your stay even more convenient, as well as a bus stop that takes you to the city of Heraklion in under 15 minutes.
