The Athens State Orchestra hosts the Southwest German Philharmonic Orchestra of Constance and Vassilis Christopoulos, its chief conductor since 2005.
In the first part of the concert, the German orchestra will perform Mozart’s magnificent Symphony no. 41, otherwise known as the Jupiter Symphony. After the intermission, the two orchestras will join forces to perform Richard Strauss’ An Alpine Symphony in honour of the 150th anniversary of the great German composer’s birth.
