Accommodation in Oia (Ia)

One of the most famous properties on the island, Perivolas has gained its reputation thanks to its high standard service and beautiful architectural design. There are 14 vaulted houses (built out of old wineries), accommodating 2 to 5 people in one bedroom and extra sofa beds in the living room, and 3 suites for up to 3 people with one bedroom and an extra sofa bed in the living room. Each house is furnished in traditional style with a double built bed and decorated with artifacts, has private bathroom with shower/W.C, fully equipped kitchenette with cooking rings, utensils and refrigerator, terrace, direct dial phone and private terrace or balcony with Caldera view. The rooms are daily attended, and linen/towels are changed daily. General facilities include a reception, beautiful swimming pool, pool snack bar, and breakfast veranda where rich continental breakfast is served. The hotel’s reception is open 8:00AM to midnight. Other services: laundry service, fax facilities, nearby parking space.

Canaves means wineries, and the original building (Canaves I) was built 12 years ago on the foundations of one such winery. The Canaves II was built only 4 years ago, about 100m from the I, following the same traditional architecture. Numbering about 23 units in total, most of which are cave units, each complex has apartments with one or two separate bedroom and a suite. The two bedroom apartments have also two bathrooms. In Canaves I there is also one studio.  All houses have private bathroom with shower or bathtub (in all suites and the 2-bedroom apartments), hairdryer and W.C, centrally regulated A/C (warm/cold), fully equipped kitchen (with rings, oven, utensils and refrigerator), direct-dial phone, TV, safe box, radio, adapters for computer modem access, and private or shared terrace/balcony with Caldera view. Most rooms have double bed but there are a few with single beds. The extra bed is either sofa or folding. Furnishing is stylish and different in each room. Of the suites, the one in Canaves I has a Jacuzzi bathtub. The suite in Canaves II is a 2-storey building with a bedroom on the ground floor with 2 single beds, and a second double bed on a loft. This suite is fully accessible from the street and has only one step at the entrance. The rest of the rooms have several steps. Cleaning and change of towels are daily. The sheets are changed every second day. Most of the rooms in Canaves II are non smoking. There is only one reception (in Canaves I) that serves both buildings and operates from 8:00AM till midnight. Each building has its own pool (with Jacuzzi in the II) for the exclusive use of each buildings’ guests, with umbrellas and sun beds. Other facilities: private parking, pool bar. Services provided: fax service, groom service, laundry service, money exchange. Breakfast is rich continental and is served to the rooms or by the pool.

A first class hotel situated on the Caldera cliffs of the Island, on the top of Ammoudi, the old port of Oia. All the rooms have a spectacular view of the Aegean Sea and the famous Oia’s Sunset. The houses are traditional cave houses, decorated in the traditional style.

Distances: 20kms to the port, 13kms to the airport, 15-20’ walk (many steps involved) to village centre. This exceptional property is in our opinion one of the best on the island. Perched on the cliffs (not recommended for elderly clients or people that suffer from high anxiety), it consists of 17 units, all of them built into the rock:

• 3 Studios: open-plan bedroom with dinning area, kitchenette, bathroom with shower, private balcony with sea view.

• 4 Traditional Houses: open-plan bedroom, sitting and dinning area, kitchenette, bathroom with shower, private balcony with sea view.

• 5 Traditional superior Houses: either separate bedroom or open loft bedroom, sitting & dinning room, kitchenette, bathroom with shower, private balcony with sea view.

• 2 Traditional Villas: two bedrooms (one separate bedroom, second bedroom half open-plan with living room area), sitting & dinning room, kitchenette, one or two bathrooms, private balcony with sea view.

• 1 Traditional Superior Villa: two separate bedrooms (one double & one twin bedroom), sitting and dinning room, kitchenette, one bathroom and one separate second toilet, private balcony with sea view and balcony from the master bedroom.

• 2 Suites: one separate bedroom, sitting and dinning room, kitchenette, bathroom with shower, separate Jacuzzi bathtub, private balcony with sea view.

All units have individual controlled A/C, satellite TV, music, direct dial phone,  room safe deposit, hair-dryer, fully equipped kitchenette.
Hotel facilities include a very friendly, professional and multi-lingual reception, a medium size swimming pool with umbrellas and sun beds, pool bar, internet facility at the reception area and internet hook-up in the Suites, a small breakfast room (also served by the pool or in the rooms), laundry service and assistance with luggage, if the hotel is informed on time. Breakfast is rich continental (not included in the room rate). A transfer upon arrival is strongly recommended.

The complex is in the village of Oia, and consists of 14 apartments and studios, all with Caldera view. All units have private bathroom (shower/W.C), telephone, TV, safe box, kitchenette (cooking rings, utensils and refrigerator) and private terrace. The rooms are spacious and simply furnished, with double beds. The extra bed is usually a sofa one or can also be a folding bed. Cleaning is daily, change of linen and towels every second day. General facilities: reception, swimming pool, breakfast room where continental breakfast is served (optional), snack bar. Services: reception. There is no access by car, and a lot of step climbing is involved.
